history

Thousands of artists and craft professionals have sold their work at our show, Art in the Park, since it began almost four decades ago. The Montclair Cooperative School introduced Art in the Park to this community in 1968 as a way of raising money for progressive education. Like the 57th Street show in Chicago, it has become highly anticipated and strongly embraced by this diverse community of well-educated, cultured and affluent people living twelve miles from New York City. Our community values, appreciates and promotes art as is evident from our own Montclair Art Museum. In fact, this year's Art in the Park takes place on the grounds of the Museum and happens in conjunction with its hosting of this year's annual NJ craft show.
